"You're My Best Friend"

We've been reading a lot of books about friends lately and play with playgroup friends every week. But Madeline says that her best, best friend is either Mommy or Evelyn, depending on the day. (In fact, she has two babies that she sleeps with- "Baby Mommy" and "Baby Evelyn"). Here I was able to catch her talking to Evelyn and telling her that she was her best friend. Evelyn thinks the feeling is mutual. Oh... if this would only last forever. Especially during the teenage years!

New Buddies

On Memorial Day Evelyn got to meet her new buddy, Ryann. My dear childhood friend Bryna was in town from Boston over the weekend, and although we've Skyped a few times, this was our first get-together. Ryann is just two weeks older than Evie, and I think the moms were more excited for the playdate than the girls were.
All they seemed to want to do was grab each others' faces. :)

Happy Girls

Here's a great picture of our happy Evie Baby! And you can see her little dimple next to her nose.
Big Sister can always get her to laugh!

Will & Jenny's Wedding

Dan's youngest brother William got married a few weeks ago down in Champaign, and we were thrilled to witness it. He and Jenny are a great match, and the wedding was beautiful.
That magical moment... seeing his bride for the first time.

Madeline got to be the "ring bearer". She took her job very seriously, and walked down the aisle all by herself. She loved wearing her "dancing dress" and "dancing shoes"...

...and running down the aisles after the ceremony was over with her "friend" (Dan's cousin) Simon.

Our family

She had been so looking forward to dancing, but didn't quite make it. After an exciting day with no nap, she crashed right after dinner. Luckily, Grandma & Grandpa Schmitt could take her back to the hotel.

Evie fell asleep as well, despite being right next to the speakers blaring dance music.
We enjoyed watching everyone on the dancefloor, and felt old. It doesn't feel like that long ago that we were young and in college ... but now we have kids, and a minivan. :)
