Dan often refers to Madeline as the "pink monster", and here she is in her glory. She put on her new summer Crocs, sun hat, and necklace that one of Aunt Laura's students made for her, and of course the super pink pajamas.
A little while later, she got in to my lipstick while I was in the shower. This was not normal lipstick in the tube, but the super-permanent 24 hour stuff. Of course she had to put it on her lips like Mommy, and it ended up all over her hands and pajamas too. (They're now permanently stained, by the way). It took a whole lot of scrubbing before we could go to the library without anyone wondering what kind of sores she had all over her face.
Here she's upset because she wanted to play with the camera. Mean Mommy.

Our friends Dave and Katie (who we think you and Dan would get on with famously) have a daughter who is about a year older than Madeline and she also loves pink - even takes dirty pink clothes out of the hamper because they are clearly superior to clean non-pink ones. They just moved to a new house and she got to pick out the paint for her new room. Guess what color?
