Pretty Girl

I just received this darling dress today from a past favorite student and parent. Madeline loves to play dress up, and can't help but smile for the camera!

LAURA'S BIG NEWS!!

Laura called me tonight with the question, "Have you heard??" Our whole family knew the news, as did Hunter's family, but no one had told me. "Hunter proposed to me at school today!" she burst out. They stopped by this evening to celebrate with us and show off her beautiful ring. Hunter arrived 10 minutes before the end of the school day and had all of Laura's students sit down while he got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. She was surprised, but quickly accepted. Laura said the rest of the school day was a blur, but Hunter said there was mild pandimonium in the classroom as some kids cheered, some kids cried, and others were worried that Laura wouldn't be their teacher anymore. One kid ran down the first grade hallway announcing that "Miss Schmitt got married!", while another pat her belly and said he couldn't wait for the baby to come out.
It's a beautiful square cut in white gold or platinum, and awfully sparkly!
We had chocolate cake to celebrate the engagement AND Madeline's 6-month birthday today!
We're thrilled!!

Mother's Day

Madeline and Great-Grandpa Luzinski
Happy Grand- and Great-Grand-Mother's Day!
I surely am the center of attention everywhere I go!

It certainly was a good first Mother's Day. What a blessing Madeline is, and what a little star she is for the camera!

Uncle Mark tries on Madeline's cool sunglasses.

But they look much better on her!

Stylin'

I just got these baby sunglasses from Target. Although they're still a little big for her, Madeline loves wearing them. Such a fair skinned baby needs protection from the sun, and also needs to look fashionable! **Notice the little tooth peeking out??**

Reaching Milestones- 5 1/2 months

Madeline had an eventful week- she has been rolling from tummy to back for a while now, mainly to get out of "tummy time". But she now will roll to her tummy to reach toys, or get closer to something she wants.

I took these pictures of Madeline in her new outfit for Grandma Hay, and was shocked to see how quickly she's growing into a big girl!
5 1/2 months going on 14!
Her first tooth has made its appearance, and has explained why she has been so fussy in the past week. Since the tooth arrived, I guessed it was time to start the rice cereal. She loved it, although half of it got in her mouth, and the other half on various other places. Now it's time to buy a highchair!

Visiting Great Grandma Schmitt

Our first trip! Instead of driving, we decided to take the train down to Quincy to meet Schmitt family and Great Grandma.
We loved the train!
Madeline meets Great Grandma.

Cousin Andy does a great job with her.

Four generations
Madeline and Mom enjoy reading the ABC book given by our Kanoy cousins. We love singing along!
