Girly-Girl

Dan often refers to Madeline as the "pink monster", and here she is in her glory. She put on her new summer Crocs, sun hat, and necklace that one of Aunt Laura's students made for her, and of course the super pink pajamas.

A little while later, she got in to my lipstick while I was in the shower. This was not normal lipstick in the tube, but the super-permanent 24 hour stuff. Of course she had to put it on her lips like Mommy, and it ended up all over her hands and pajamas too. (They're now permanently stained, by the way). It took a whole lot of scrubbing before we could go to the library without anyone wondering what kind of sores she had all over her face.
Here she's upset because she wanted to play with the camera. Mean Mommy.

Easter Morning

We practiced hiding and finding Easter eggs for a week before the big day, just to build the excitement for everyone! Easter morning the eggs were hidden again, and this time they were filled with yummy treats- rasins and dried cranberries!
Maybe some day she'll learn that candy exists. :)

Spring?

Celebrating Easter a day early outside in the backyard.

Typical. Everyone sits around and watches Madeline play.
We've learned how to throw... but can't catch yet.

Brookfield Zoo

Dan had Good Friday off so we spent a blustry, but fun day at the zoo. To make it a real day trip, we even took the train in and walked a few blocks to the zoo. We didn't see all the animals, but especially enjoyed seeing the Sea Otters, Pachyderms, Lions, and Apes.
Dad and Madeline watching the apes play around in Tropic World.

Hangin' with my Peeps

Tired of playing at home one Saturday, we spent a few hours at Aunt Laura and Uncle Mark's place.

Such fun!

Playgroup Friends

We've spent much time this winter in our sub-basement, which we cleaned out and painted. It is now a wonderful playroom with plenty of space.
Here are some playgroup friends having a good time one Wednesday morning.

Bling

After Great-Grandpa Luzinski's funeral last month we had lunch with the whole family. Madeline is a great admirer of jewelry, and cousin Melissa's necklace and bracelet brought much joy!
